Farali Paneer
This Farali Paneer Makhana Curry, is an unbeatable combination of paneer and makhana with rich, creamy and delicious gravy.
Ingredients
- 100 grams paneer cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons paneer grated
- 50 grams makhana popped lotus seeds
- 2 tablespoons red pepper chopped
- 1 tablespoon whole spices green cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and bay leaf
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 100 millilitres milk
- 4 tablespoons cashew white poppy seeds, and melon seeds paste
- salt to taste use farali salt
- ½ teaspoon white pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- pinch saffron
- coriander leaves for garnish
- pomegranate arils optional
Instructions
- Dry roast the makhana and set it aside.
- Heat the ghee in a pan and add the whole spices.
- Once they begin to crackle, add the cashew, white poppy seeds, and melon seeds paste, and stir continuously.
- Gradually add the milk and cook the gravy until the ghee starts to separate.
- Add the grated paneer, paneer cubes, chopped red pepper, salt, sugar, and white pepper powder.
- Cook for another minute or so. If the gravy becomes too thick, add a little more milk and cook again.
- Turn off the heat and add the roasted makhana. Mix well.
- Add the saffron and stir once again.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh coriander leaves and pomegranate arils (if using).
