Bajra Ladoo

Kuler can be made in Gujarati households for many different occasions.

My Mum says that my Grandma would make Kuler especially during the winter as the bajri or pearl millet is very nutritious. Combined with jaggery and ghee, this creates a powerhouse of warming nutrients.

Kuler is also made during Nag Panchmi - a festival that falls in the month of Shravan.

Ingredients for Kuler Ladoo

  • 1 cup bajri flour (millet)
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery grated
  • 1/4 cup ghee

How to make Kuler Ladoo

Mix everything in one bowl.

Give it a good rub, you can see the mixture will become one mass.

If you feel the mixture is dry, add one tsp ghee at a time

Make ping pong size balls.

Offer to god and have it as prasadam.

You can store this in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
