You're Invited - Archana Vijay ~ Butter Cookies

Today we have our third guest post and our guest is Archana Vijay of Pastry Lover :) !!! Before I introduce Archana as a blogger, let me tell you a bit about her..what a great person she is! She has a beautiful heart and at the same time has so much courage and will power too!  Even in her difficult times she always keeps herself so stroni, she keeps herself so busy with her family and recently she started a blog, which has lovely baking goodies..whenever I chat with her on FB, it's always lovely to hear from her, she is an inspiration to me!!! Let's meet our Archana :)

I am Archana from India is currently staying in the USA.I am hearing impaired and also software professional.I am full time home maker taking care of my cute daughter.Am an avid baker passionate about cakes,cupcakes,and pastries from all over the world and also crafts.I love to bake,experiment,decorate and celebrate it with my family and friends.:)
My friends had asked for the recipe and I would like to start a blog about pastry and want everyone to try out the recipes at their kitchen and  make your family and your friends happy.My blog is one month old and i will keep more posts.I would be highly thankful in liking,following and commenting my posts.I ll be very happy if got friends for my blog and will keep in touch with friends too.
I met my dearest friend Jagruti through my best friend. Am very truly blessed by her and she motivates and helps me too.She is very kind and loving friend to me. Very truly inspired by her blog and her videos on cooking channel. Am lucky to have her as my dearest friend.Exciting to get more friends!!! :) :) For you Jagruti and your readers I have made Butter Cookies..hope you will enjoy them !!

Butter Cookies

You will need:-

1 cup unsalted butter cut into pieces(Room Temperature)
3/4 cup white sugar
1 Large Egg
1 Tsp pure vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups All purpose Flour.
1 Tsp orange or lemon zest (optional)
1/4 Tsp Salt.

Preparation :
Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees F or 180 Degrees C Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and Set aside.

In an electric mixer or hand mixer , Beat the sugar and butter into the bowl until its smooth and creamy, Add in the egg,zest and pure vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl,whisk the flour and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture into the creamy mixture and mix well until its incorporated.
Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Wrap the dough into the bowl with plastic wrap or cover it and keep in the fridge for about 2 hours
If ur dough is sticky dust it with flour on the work surface. Make a circle dough by using rolling pin for about1/8 - 1/4inch (.3-.5 mm) thick
Take any desired cookie cutter, dust the cutter with flour and insert into the dough and make the desired shapes as u like Take the shaped cookies and place onto the baking sheet spacing about 2 inches(5 cm) apart.
Bake it for about 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown.Remove from the oven and allow it to cool on the rack for about 10 minutes.
Serve it along with a cup of tea or as a snack.It ll be great for kids. U can add frosting on the cookies.Will  do it again for frosting on the cookies and post it soon
Can be stored in an air tight container.
