To make hummus you don't need too much time, and the taste is gorgeous...even you don't have to use dried chickpeas and soaking and all that..just use shop-bought tin of chickpeas and that would be fine...great as a dip but you can use many ways..this time I made it with roasted red peppers, and also added Harrisa paste for a bit of spiciness. I hadn't much time so I used peppers straight from the jar..it turned out really well !!
you can see jalapeno hummus
You will need :-
2/3 cups garbanzos (Chickpeas)(drained; reserve 1/4 cup liquid) Tin
1/4 cup tahini (sesame seed paste, made of ground sesame seeds, used jar one)
juice of 1 lemon
1-2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2- cup Red Roasted peppers(used jar one)
1-2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive oil
1 tsp Harrisa Paste
1/2 teaspoon salt
Method:-
Place the ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth, adding reserved liquid if necessary. Eat with whole wheat pita bread and/or raw vegetables or use in any other recipe which I used for my panini.
Enjoy!!
