Traditional British Bread Sauce - Product Review - Stirr

It's the 1st of December, so Christmas dinner is already on our minds. This Traditional British Bread sauce has been made with the help of Stirr from Uutensil.

Traditional Bread sauce is so delicious, creamy and rich. It is prepared on Christmas day as part of the Christmas dinner.

In the winter, when my mum used to get me to grate carrots, I used to wish that we owned an appliance where we could grate a kilo of carrots in under 5 mins. I never even knew then in wealthier peoples homes that you could get food processors! Even after I burned the rice pudding I was making as a child, I always loved cooking but I still longed for an extra hand around the kitchen. Something that would save some time and energy without having to make shortcuts to the recipe itself.

Automatic pan stirrer

Since I got little older, around at age of 14-15, I always wanted all those kitchen gadgets or electric appliances in our home. I would help my mum in earning some extra cash in her sewing business so that we could buy a refrigerator, colour TV and a mixer-grinder. I still remember those days very clearly..how happy I was when we had the mixer grinder and I prepared Chikoo Milkshake!

It's not that I am lazy in the kitchen but these appliances always helped to be more focused in the kitchen and save precious time. When mum visited me for the first time in the UK, as soon as she entered the kitchen her words were "you have all the appliances already?" I told her that I'd bought everything the next day as soon as I landed here! My first aim was to get all the necessary kitchen appliances and gadgets. As we are now into the digital era and technology advances, the latest technology never fails to impress me! There are so many cool and unique gadgets and appliances out there now, all of which help me in achieving great results in my cooking. One brilliant example is a nifty gadget from Uutensil called Stirr - Automatic Pan Stirrer

Traditional Bread sauce is so delicious, creamy and rich. It is prepared on Christmas day as part of the Christmas dinner.

The lovely folks from UUtensil sent me a Stirr-Automatic Pan Stirrer. I could sing its praises all day long.  Before the Stirr package arrived, I'd already read about it and was so impressed and looking forward to receiving it. Once I got hold of it, I couldn't wait to use it as I already had a bank of recipes in my head to try it out on. The Stirr came with an easy to read instruction manual, but even without, it would've been fine as the Stirr is so easy to put together and use. In the whole equipment, there are only two parts. One is the motor unit, where you insert the 4 AA batteries and the other is the legs which are dishwasher safe.  I liked that there are three different speeds and can withstand high temperatures up to 200C. Even one of the first rules of cooking that I taught my daughter was to always remain by the pan during the whole cooking process and keep stirring. For the first time, we feel like we have an extra hand in the kitchen that we can rely on.

I tested it out on my bread sauce recipe and then used it again the same evening for my Indian cooking. I haven't even bothered finding a space for it in the cupboard as I'm constantly using it!! It doesn't mash or break up the ingredients, simply stirs them.

How many of you have been put off by a recipe which needs constant stirring? Well, now you don't have to as this mighty little gadget will do that hard work for you. Whilst reading this, if it reminded you of someone or possibly reminded you of yourselves then why not get it in time for Christmas either as a gift or to help your Christmas dinner prep.

Traditional Bread sauce is so delicious, creamy and rich. It is prepared on Christmas day as part of the Christmas dinner.

Christmas lunch without Traditional Bread sauce, it's hard to imagine and same goes in my house too, although we go for vegetarian options. The classic and one of the great bread sauce is an important dish to serve alongside Cranberry sauce in Britain.  This old-fashioned, thick and creamy and extremely delicious sauce goes so well with roast dinner. This bread sauce truly brings the spirit of Christmas in the kitchen, infusing the milk with onions and the wafting delicate aroma of spices, cream and butter perfectly blending in. This super duper easy recipe is so simple and foolproof so that can be made with the most basic ingredients.

Notes:-
This bread sauce can freeze for up to two months before you can add the remaining cream and butter.
