Mexican masala roasted peanuts !

Made n Enjoyed
Hello readers,

Howdy....! It's Monday today, beginnng of the new week........:) Happy Monday everyone !!
You must be thinking why am I so cheerfully wishing you a happy Monday when the whole world hates Monday morning !!!

Well, let me tell you it's not any ordinary Monday, it's the first Monday of Shravan month ( Hindu calender ) ! Shravan Month is one of the Auspicious and holiest month of the Hindu year as it comes with innumerable festivals and ceremonies, almost everyday of the month is considered auspicious.

During this entire month Hindu community offer prayers , Archana and keep fasts to gain long and prosperous life, especially on every Monday, you must. These Mondays are dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva.

As per popular belief , one who fasts on all Monday of Shravan month, has all prayers answered by the Lord Shiva especially for unmarried girls and women. Fasting on Mondays is also beneficial for accomplishing the wish of getting a desired partner. It is believed that Mata Parvati ( goddess ) deeply wanted to marry to Lord Shiva, and thus she did somvar ( Monday ) vrat with immense devotion to get Mahadev ( Lord Shiva ).

So did I..:) I remember fasting and praying on those few Mondays, in India with so many of my friends..we girls used to get nicely dressed and go to temple. For us girls, dressing up was the most important subject then praying or fasting..:)
Believe it or not first time in those years I kept fast on one Monday of Shravan and same year after four months I did get married..people used to say to me Lord Shiva has sent blessing for you :)...however I do not keep many fasts nowadays neither my family members. Maybe one or two in the whole year is enough for me :) !

Although I believe in my religion and God, I am not overly religious. Before religion I always put humanity and science first. I celebrate few religious festivals now and then and that's it. I always believed that keeping fast or eating few certain items on particularly day is all to with science. Why people in India keep fast and celebrate so many festivals during July, August months ? During July-August is a monsoon season in India, constant rain and dull weather makes people a little depressed so maybe our genius ancestors found a solution..worship god and keep yourself busy in praying and chanting so your mind stays cheerful and your time passes very quickly. Also during monsoon season your digestive system becomes weak, and you can not consume very rich or outside food...so observing a fast is most appropriate thing to do during monsoon season !

So, hey guys wish you all a very Happy Shravan month. Celebrate and enjoy every festival. May all your prayers be answered by Lord Shiva ! Maybe you're thinking today I'll have recipe which is associated with Shravan month , Monsoon or fasting ! Nope, totally different recipe which is absolutely delicious, flavourful and it's done in a jiffy. Great for snacking, picnic or serving with drinks at any get together event .
